Prior to joining Asia Principal Capital, Matt spent close to 40 years in Finance across Asset Management, Investment Banking, Private Banking and now Private Equity. 

 

He began his career in London as a portfolio manager with Royal Trust Co. of Canada and Midland Montagu, and then spent two decades covering institutional clients in New York, London, Singapore and Hong Kong in a number of equity distribution management roles for the UBS investment bank.

 

He moved on to become APAC Head of Client Coverage for UBS, reporting to the Board, responsible for global relationships with institutional money managers, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, private wealth managers and banks. 

 

Post this he ran the investment product division of the UBS private bank in APAC facilitating the provision of listed and private managed solutions to UBS’ private clients and family offices across the Region.

 

Matt’s primary responsibility at Asia Principal Capital is Head of Capital Formation and given his background, he is closely involved in the investment process too.

 

He is enjoying his new life in Australia with his wife and two sons.
